PSU visits Laos to foster relations and support academic advancement of Lao students




On 30 April 2024, PSU President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradub, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Jirusaya Birananda, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane. The purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities for enhancing educational cooperation between PSU and universities in Laos. During the meeting, the embassy offered valuable guidance to PSU on how to tailor educational programs to develop knowledge and professional skills for Lao students, addressing the country's manpower skill shortages effectively.




Additionally, the delegation proceeded to the National University of Laos, where they participated in the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities and discussed expanding educational opportunities through bilateral cooperation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dexanoulath Sendouangdeth, Acting President of the National University of Laos, extended a warm welcome to the team, along with the university's administration.



During this visit, PSU extended full PSU Graduate Studies scholarships to five deserving students from the National University of Laos, offering them the opportunity to pursue their graduate studies during the 2024 academic year.



In the evening, PSU organized a reunion with alumni who graduated since 1994 and currently hold positions as administrators and lecturers at the National University of Laos. The gathering was aimed at fostering stronger relationships among the alumni and facilitating the exchange of ideas on ways to further promote education for Lao students in the future.
